Rhythmical Einreibung One Day Workshop

  • Thursday, September 09, 2021
  • 10:00 - 16:30
  • Emerson College RH18 5JX

Rhythmical Einreibung is a unique form of therapeutic touch that can be used by health care professionals as well as anyone wanting to offer family and friends gentle, healing touch. It is an Anthroposophic approach that works by supporting the body’s own forces to help strengthen, regulate and heal.

In this time post-pandemic we are all deprived of healthy touch and many people in their lives have experienced unhealthy or invasive touch, RE has a universal relevance for us all through its warming, rhythmical qualities. Because of its gentle, calming nature it can be very beneficial for patients who are too frail or sensitive for other hands-on therapies.

If you have not heard of Rhythmical Einreibung or wonder what it is, we warmly invite you to join Fiona Sim (Course Leader on the Rhythmical Einreibung programme at Emerson College) for an informal day workshop to find out about this gentle form of therapeutic touch.

During the workshop we will explore:

  • What RE is, who it is suitable for, when to give it and when not to.
  • What oils to use.
  • The four key qualities of RE:
  • Touching with full attention- using physical touch to address more and other than the physical body, a holistic approach
  • Touching with a relaxed hand - making no impositions or demands, a relaxed hand can follow the shape of the body, allowing touch to be very gentle.
  • Touching with warmth - relaxes muscles, relieves physical and psychological tension. We'll look at four-fold man here too and why warmth is so important.
  • Touching with a rhythmical quality and why this is significant
  • And have the opportunity to practice three 10-minute treatments for the foot, shoulder and back.

The workshop is open to everyone, no prior experience needed.
