Foundation Studies - Fundamentals of Anthroposophic Medicine

It is aimed at health care professions, in particular: medical students (recommended from year 3), doctors, qualified nurses, art and movement therapists, special needs teachers, psychologists and psychotherapists, and pharmacists.

The course material is divided into 35 study weeks of 3 to 4 hours each (self-study and group work) as well as 9 livestreams of 4,5-5 hours at weekends (estimated 8am-12.30pm CET). Foundation Studies is modelled on the international Core Curriculum in anthroposophic medicine but is not conceived as full training. After participating in Foundation Studies, medical students and doctors must complete their further training to be eligible to apply for official recognition.

Foundation Studies offers an introduction to the basic principles of anthroposophic medicine. It provides a holistic understanding of nature and the human being. Consideration is given to physical, mental and spiritual aspects of health, as well as questions around life, destiny, and the interconnectedness of microcosmos and macrocosmos.

This course is supported by Klinik Arlesheim in partnership with the Medical Section at the Goetheanum and delivered by the Arlesheim Medical Training.
