Anthroposophic Insights on ADHD

  • Online

A lot of modern medicine makes diagnoses through checklists. That can help give a name to something, but doesn’t necessarily help you know why it is happening or what can be done to help it. A “constitutional” approach—looking at individual patterns of attention, prioritization, engagement and movement—provide very helpful views. It’s more complex than a checklist, but that is because each child is a little bit different. We have to take to the time to look carefully.

Our presenter, Adam Blanning, MD, practices anthroposophic family medicine in Denver, CO. He is a co-leader of the medical section at the Goetheanum and teaches widely about child development.
