Hilma af Klint

This seminar will be an opportunity to explore Hilma af Klint’s destiny with anthroposophy. Her tireless search and what she encountered in Dornach are easily overlooked in the popular acclaim her work has had in several recent publications and exhibitions. After meeting Rudolf Steiner and encountering the wet-on-wet painting technique, Hilma af Klint embarked on a new direction, both in content and style. This last phase of her tireless exploring opened a new dimension for her continuing striving. The many diverse fields of Hilma af Klint’s artistic endeavours, the changing collaborative constellations, and the different sources of her inspiration were all integral to the questing of her free and honest spirit. Anne Weise from The Rudolf Steiner Archive in Dornach will give two illustrated lectures on this development in Hilma af Klint's work, and Mary-Anne Paterson will offer a painting workshop on the wet-on-wet technique.
