The Human Etheric between Molecules and Stars

Over the last 150 years, biological and medical sciences have penetrated into the depths of the molecular and atomic substance of nature and the human being. A cellular and genetic viewpoint is now the foundation of modern medicine, not only in health and pathology, but increasingly in our approaches to therapy. Modern biological protein treatments and gene therapy are a radical development in this field. But how do we bring our understanding of the living, cosmically sensitive and responsive etheric body to meet these pictures? The findings of modern science are not contradictory to the spiritual scientific view, but neither are they able to be brought together immediately - it requires a kind of will to bring these seemingly disparate views together. This talk will be an attempt in this direction.

Dr Matthew Mirkin is a junior doctor in England, with a strong anthroposophic background. He completed his medical studies in Glasgow, after first achieving a BSc in Biological Sciences with Honours in Cellular Biology from the University of Edinburgh. He also helps to coordinate the Medical Section in Great Britain, and has attended many anthroposophic doctors training modules at Emerson College.
